Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between wholesale and correspondent lending?

Wholesale lenders act as a third party, originating and/or funding a loan, not lending directly to consumers. Correspondent lenders make and sometimes service the loan, working directly with the consumers. Lucky for you, we do both.

What is the difference between a correspondent and a direct lender?

Correspondent lenders originate and fund loans while offering many different loan options due to the relationships with brokers and borrowers. Direct lenders originate and fund loans, but typically have one lending source which can limit mortgage loan options.

What is the wholesale lending model?

Typically, in wholesale lending, the lender has no contact with the borrower. All loan processes are communicated through a third party which is usually a loan originator or broker.

Do non-QM loans follow TRID?

Yes, lenders must abide by TRID requirements for non-QM loans to ensure the borrower’s ability-to-repay.
