Life at Axos
Tom, Jr. Cyber Security Engineer
I joined Axos almost two years ago as an intern. I was given the opportunity as an intern to work on projects with other interns in various departments, which was brilliant and gave a massive insight into how a bank functions.
After becoming a full-time employee, I moved on to the help desk and was given the opportunity to again assist lots of different business roles, business units, and grow my knowledge of banking, of technology, and different methods of working.
From there, I moved into the security department and thanks to the incredible management we have here, I was given the chance to work on new evolving technologies and be involved in projects that are almost unique to Axos in the banking, fintech kind of world. And that's been an amazing experience. And I appreciate all the management that's here. You don't get that kind of freedom to learn anywhere else in my experience.
Alexandria, VP, Credit Efficiencies and Controls Manager
I love working on the internal audit team because we are so diverse in terms of our professional backgrounds. We’re able to share perspectives and realize synergies across the team. Everyone has a strength to bring to the table.
On a daily basis, we perform tests of controls to provide independent and objective assurance on the company’s control environment.
Janardan, VP, Commercial Business Services
Hello, my name is Janardan Durvasula. I’m the VP of Commercial Business Process, and I’ve been with the company for two and a half years.
So, one of the big motivators for joining Axos was the ability to have autonomy and authority for change. What this has allowed us to do is coming up with great ideas and actually seeing them through to fruition. And through this, as a team, I've been able to create new opportunities, new teams, new programs, within a commercial lending operation space. And that has allowed us to really progress through.
And some words for the next generation for future candidates looking to join the company: With that ability to act like an owner, and having that autonomy, one key to success is having the drive, right? So being results focused, ensuring that you are really kind of talking the talk and also walking the walk. Ensuring that we are following through on all things that we’re expected to do. But also going above and beyond since that is how we kind of progress ourselves but also differentiate ourselves from others.
One thing I think it takes to be successful is being a self-starter instead of just sitting and waiting for things to happen. It’s better to take initiative and jump in, learn on your own, ask others, and see what you can figure out on your own.
What I really like about this position is that it has given me the opportunity to learn and grow more than at any other job.
How I achieve success in the bank is the same way that anyone else can achieve success: having emotional involvement and investment in my work product.
Axos Bank empowers us to work as individuals to be creative to develop our programs and our work on our own.
Work With Us
A Message From Our President & CEO
I'm Greg Garrabrants, president and CEO of Axos Bank and Axos Financial. Thank you for considering us for your next career opportunity.
We're a nationwide financial services company that's small enough that you can participate actively in the growth of the business, but we’re large enough that we have enough resources to support you in your career development and provide you a diverse range of opportunities.
I believe what distinguishes us the most, has allowed us to grow so rapidly and have as much success we have over the last decade, is our culture. So, our culture is one where we expect engagement, and we expect to challenge our employees. That means that you're going to have the opportunity here to do things that you wouldn't otherwise get to do, at an early age.
More will be expected of you, but as you perform and as you increase your competency and skill sets, you'll be provided opportunities here. I can tell you amazing stories of college students or folks with only a few years of experience who've come in and by their dedication and hard work have been leading business units and doing amazing things.
And if you're looking at those careers and looking at them in comparison to peers, you'll often find people have much more experience, but they just simply don't have that drive, intellect, and initiative that our employees have that allowed them to succeed.
So, if you have that sort of drive, initiative, and desire to see your skill sets utilized in the best way possible, and you're willing to work hard to do that, I'd recommend you do consider a career at Axos. I think it's a great culture and a great opportunity for you to utilize those skill sets and to achieve the next level of performance for yourself, professionally and personally.
Thank you for your time, and I hope you consider joining us.
More Reasons To Join Axos
At Axos, we create financial tools that challenge the status quo.
We started as a digital bank over 20 years ago, when the idea of banking online was almost unthinkable. Since then, we've grown to offer a wide array of financial products and services with more than 1,000 team members across the United States. We're gritty, we're resourceful, we're accountable. We are Axos.
There's never a day that I come into work and there's not an interesting challenge for me to solve. And I love that.
What I really like about being an online bank is we're always trying to stay technologically advanced. We're trying to move forward, be ahead of the game when it comes to helping people manage their money.
Every single day I wake up excited because I get to help people. I get to save them money or help them buy a home for the first time in their life. And that, to me, is amazing. I'm winning if they're winning.
First is the people, my coworkers, my teams, our business stakeholders. And second is that I get to lead and drive data strategy initiatives that don’t just help in overall revenue generation, but also allow us to service our customers better and improve the overall personalization and customer experience.
Be prepared, be confident, and most of all, be yourself. If you're a driven individual, but your current state is not growing much, not learning much, don't know how your work helps the company and the company bottom line? It's time for a change, and that change is Axos. Are you ready to evolve your career? Then join the company that's innovating the future of finance.
