How do I make a deposit to my business account?

Your business account may be funded in one of the following ways:

Is my account at Axos Bank insured?

All Business Banking Products and Services are offered by Axos Bank, which is an FDIC-insured financial institution. How do I send or receive a wire?

Sending a wire out from Axos Bank

To send an outbound wire, simply log in online or in the app, select your account, choose Move Money, and select the Wire Transfers option.

How do I change my contact details?

To change your contact information in the mobile app, select Personal Information from the menu. Otherwise, login online and select your name from the top navigation, select Contact Info.

How do I order deposit slips?

  • You can deposit checks instantly from the comfort of your home or office using Mobile Deposit. Mobile Deposit is our remote deposit solution that enables you to scan checks from your computer and have the scanned images electronically transmitted into your account.

Can I allow someone other than myself to access the account?

We’re still working to improve your experience to add a non-signer (bookkeeper, accountant, etc.) in our newer digital banking platforms. For more info contact a Business Banking Representative at (844) 678-2726.

Do I have to have access to a computer and an email address to have an account?

Yes. As a digital bank, we require that you have a current email address and access to a computer. When you apply for an account with Axos Bank, you are asked to give your consent to receive communication and information in electronic form. Axos Bank is able to offer competitive interest rates and accounts due to the fact that we save money on being a branchless bank and do not send out paper communications.

What documentation is required to open a business banking account?

Can Non-US companies open a business account?

At this time, Axos Bank only extends business accounts to companies within the United States.

I own several properties under an LLC company name. Can I open a business checking account for the LLC and have separate accounts for each property linked to the main account?

Absolutely! Please speak to one of our friendly business banking experts for further details.

Can I apply for a business account if I put a freeze on my credit report?

If you have an active credit freeze, please place a Global Release removal from your TransUnion report before applying. You may reinstate your credit freeze after the application has been processed.

I have freeze with ChexSystems. Can I apply for a business account?

Axos will not be able to process or approve your application with a ChexSystems freeze in place. Please remove the freeze before applying.

Can I use a PO Box as my business address? What about my registered agent's address?

Axos can only accept a PO Box or a registered agent’s address as the mailing address. We require a physical address for the business and all owners and signers.

I was asked to provide a utility bill for proof of address. What utilities are accepted?

Any electric, gas, water, or internet bill will be accepted. Mobile phone bills will not be accepted.

I don't have a current driver's license. Can I use my passport?

You may use a passport as valid ID. Please keep in mind that foreign passports may increase processing times.

Why was my application declined?

As an online bank, we rely on diverse methods to verify information provided to us during the application process. At times, events may occur that cause us to decline a request to open a new account.

An application may also be declined if the business is in a restricted industry, such as cannabis distributors or dispensaries, cryptocurrency, internet gambling businesses, money service businesses, or companion services.

I am not a U.S. citizen. Can I be a signer on a business account?

U.S. citizenship is not required in order to open an account or be a signer on a business account, but you must be a U.S. resident with a physical U.S. address and social security number.

If you are not a U.S. citizen, we may request additional documents such as your passport and permanent resident card.

How do I enroll in E-Docs?

You are automatically enrolled in E-Docs upon registration as part of the enhanced digital banking experience.

Where can I find my account information?

Your account and routing numbers were provided in the Welcome Letter sent in your application message portal. You can also view your account numbers online by choosing the account in your dashboard or from the Bank, Borrow and Invest tabs in the mobile app. Once you’re viewing the account, scroll to Settings for more details.

Where can I find a Bank Form (Wires, Online Banking Admin, etc.)?

Please contact a Business Banking Representative at (844) 678-2726 during business hours Monday - Friday 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (PT).

Where are my checks and debit card?

Checks and a debit card were ordered upon opening your account, if you requested them when completing your initial application. Please allow 7-10 business days for delivery.

Where were my checks and debit card sent to?

Checks and a debit card are mailed to the business mailing address on file.

Where do I find my statements?

You are automatically enrolled in e-Docs upon registration as part of the enhanced digital banking experience. To find your statements, login online or in the mobile app. Go to Statements and Documents.

How do I make a transfer?

Select Move Money online or in the mobile app to setup and manage transfers between personal and business accounts, all in one place.
If the transfer is going to another entity or bank, use the Move Money or Bill Pay feature online or in the mobile app. Add the new External Account or Recipient.

If you would like to process an incoming transfer from another bank or institution, you would initiate the transfer from the other bank or institution.
If it is a transfer within Axos from your business account to another Axos business or personal account, Select Move Money online or in the mobile app to setup and manage transfers between personal and business accounts, all in one place.

How do I set the PIN on my debit card?

To set up or change your PIN, please call 800-290-7893 (or, if outside the U.S., 206-624-7998).

How do I activate my debit card?

Activate your debit card in the mobile app or online. Select the account linked to the card from the Bank tab, scroll down to the Help section to activate, replace, and report lost or stolen.

Can my Bill Pay limits increase?

Limits cannot be increased for Bill Pay. Please use the other Bill Pay options, Company, Individual, or transfer instead of the Email Payment. The Email payment has a max limit of $2,500. The other options have a max of $100k for Company/Transfer and $10k for individual.

Why do I get a blank page when I click on the Bill Pay tab?

If the Bill Pay tab is blank, please call us at (844)678-2726 or send a secure message requesting to activate the Bill Pay option.

How long does Bill Pay take to arrive to the recipient?

Bill Pay ACH/Bill Pay options typically take 1-3 business days to arrive in an account. If you had selected the Bill Pay check option, Bill Pay will physically cut a check. This check is sent through regular mail and may take up to 7 -10 business days.

MOBILE APP/ONLINE ACCESS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I use my existing credentials to log in?

You must create a new username and password to log in to the Axos all-in-one mobile app and desktop platforms.

How do I reset my password online or in the mobile app?

Choose Forgot Password on the login screen – online or through the app – and follow the steps to receive a password reset email. If you don’t receive an email, it could mean that the email we have on file is invalid, inactive, or blocked. Please chat with Evo or contact us for any additional password reset assistance.

How do I send a secure message online or in the mobile app?

To send a secure message, log in online or in the mobile app and select Messages on the main menu.

Where can I view my account statements?

You can access your account statements in the upgraded Axos all-in-one mobile app or you can log in online.

Will I need to set up Bill Pay or will my recipients be available in the new platform?

You do not need to set this up again. We have transferred this information for you, and all your recipients and scheduled recurring payments will be available.

Can I still use the old system?

Yes. It will still be available, but we recommend downloading the Axos all-in-one mobile app and registering your account online. You will receive advance notice prior to the existing platform being discontinued.

ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE INTEGRATION FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What accounting integrations are available?

QuickBooks (desktop and online versions) and Quicken (desktop version).

What’s the difference between QuickBooks Direct Connect and Web Connect?

Direct Connect is desktop-based software that allows you to access your bank account directly from within QuickBooks/Quicken. Direct bank connections (or direct feeds) provide a secure and reliable connection between your bank account and QuickBooks.

Meanwhile, Web Connect is browser and app based, allowing users to manually download a file from a bank website, then import it into QuickBooks/Quicken. It's a bit more hands-on, but still a straightforward way to get your transactions into QuickBooks/Quicken.

Which file types are available for download?

Axos offers these file types for integration with your chosen accounting software: CSV (spreadsheets), QBO (QuickBooks Statement File), QFX (Quicken Web Connect), and OFX (Open Financial Exchange).

How do I connect my account with the accounting software?

You can connect your Axos bank account directly through your chosen account software.

To get started:

  1. Log in to your accounting software.

  2. Go to Online Banking Setup under the Banking tab.

  3. Search for Axos Financial and activate your account.

    • When selecting the financial institution for this account, please search “Axos.” That should return four different Axos options to select from:

      • Axos Bank Business DC

      • Axos Bank Business WC

      • Axos Bank DC

      • Axos Bank WC

    • Please select either Axos Bank DC or Axos Bank WC, depending on if you need Direct Connect or Web Connect.

      • DC (or Direct Connect) lets you access your Axos account directly through QuickBooks or Quicken.

      • WC (or Web Connect) lets you manually download your transactions from your Axos business platform and upload them into QuickBooks or Quicken.

  4. Log in using your Axos credentials.

  5. Select the account(s) you want to connect.

  6. Follow the prompts to complete your setup.

How do I download my transactions within the Axos platform?

For mobile app users:
 

  1. Login to the Axos All-in-One Mobile App.

  2. Select the account(s) you’d like to connect.

  3. Scroll down to recent transactions.

  4. Select View All.

  5. Select the three ellipsis icon in the top right corner.

  6. From the More Actions screen, select Download Transactions.

  7. From the Download Transactions screen, select the account you’d like to connect, the Transaction Period, and the File Format.

  8. Select Download Transactions.

  9. Use this file to import into your accounting software platform.

For online banking users:
 

  1. Login here

  2. Select the Accounts tab.

  3. Select the Transactions tab.

  4. Select Download Transactions button at the top right of the screen.

  5. Select the account(s) you’d like to connect, the Transaction Period, and the File Format.

  6. Select Download Transactions.

  7. Use this file to import into your accounting software platform.

How do I sync my software data with my new account?

If you need to transfer your account:

  1. Download a backup data file of your current transactions in QuickBooks or Quicken.

  2. Deactivate your current financial institution connection.

  3. Set up your new financial institution connection after migrating to the new Axos platform. Please select either Axos Bank DC or Axos Bank WC to set up the new connection.

  4. Import your downloaded transactions file to the new connection.

BUSINESS CHECKING, SAVINGS, AND CDS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

To whom do I make checks payable when depositing to or funding my Business Checking Account?

Checks must be made payable to your business exactly as the name appears on your account or you may make checks payable to Axos Bank. In addition, you may endorse the back of the check “For Deposit Only” followed by your signature and the account number.

How can I access/manage my money from my Business Checking account?

You can access your online bank account, make payments, or move your money in a variety of ways:
 

  • Use your Visa® Debit card or checks for purchases and payments.

  • Pay your bills using our Bill Pay service.

  • Get cash from any ATM nationwide (no matter which bank).

  • Access your accounts online or in the Axos mobile app.

  • Deposit checks with the Axos Bank mobile app.

How do I order checks for my account?

Basic Business Checking, Business Interest Checking, Business Money Market and Non-Profit and Association Money Market accounts have the option to order an introductory starter pack of 50 checks at account opening. You can also order checks online or through the mobile app.

Subsequent checks can be purchased from the provider of your choice, such as Harland Clarke by visiting ordermychecks.com. Our routing number is 122287251.

Why did I receive an email that a hold has been placed on my check?

Regulation CC requires that financial institutions such as Axos Bank inform customers when check holds have been placed. Axos Bank may delay the availability to funds from your check deposits to allow us time to verify the deposit and ensure the funds are collected. The email notice states when the funds will be available. Refer to the Funds Availability Policy for further details.

How do I order checks for my account?

The hold time is sent out in the email notifying you of the hold. Refer to the Funds Availability Policy for further details.

How can I withdraw money from my Business Money Market or Business Savings account?

You can withdraw money from your account via a wire transfer. Business Savings Account holders who have a checking account with bill pay can also withdraw money from the account online via funds transfer. Business Money Market account holders also have the option of using their debit card, writing a check from the account, or withdrawing money online via funds transfer. How do I renew a Certificate of Deposit?

To renew a Certificate of Deposit, you may use one of the following methods:

Secure message: Log into your account online or in the mobile app and select Messages from the menu. Please include in your email the new term you wish to renew your Certificate of Deposit into.

Phone: Contact a Business Relationship Manager at 1-844-678-2726 during business hours Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (PST).

Fax: Send instructions, including the new term and your signature, to 1-858-350-0443.

What happens with CD funds at maturity?

Business CDs automatically renew for the same term and at the current interest rate then paid for the term in which the account was renewed. The grace period to make changes without penalty is 10 calendar days from the maturity date. For complete details, please refer to our Business Deposit Account Agreement and Schedule of Fees.

Is there a penalty for early withdrawal from a CD?

It is best to leave your money in the CD for the entire term. An early withdrawal penalty will apply if you withdraw any or all of your funds before the CD matures. For complete details, please refer to our Business Deposit Account Agreement and Schedule of Fees.

Can I receive interest disbursements from my Business Certificate of Deposit?

Are there any fees to open or maintain an Axos Bank CD account?

Axos Bank does not charge any fees to open or maintain a certificate of deposit.

Can I make additional deposits to a CD?

No. Additional deposits cannot be made during the initial term of a CD. Once the CD matures, however, you will have the opportunity to deposit additional funds and roll over the CD into a new term. This can be done during the 10-day grace period that commences at the maturity date.

SIGNER/BUSINESS NAME CHANGES FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What documents do I need in order to add and/or remove signers on my business account?

To add additional signers on your account, please send us a secure message through the online banking portal with the following:
 

  1. A clear color photo of Driver License, or other government ID, for the new/current signers.

  2. Articles, a letter signed by current authorized signer, or operating agreements showing the new signers are associated with the business.

  3. Fill out the Signer Update Section within the “Account Maintenance Form”.

To remove signers on your account, please send us a secure message through the online banking portal with the following:
 

  1. Articles, a letter signed by current authorized signer, or operating agreements showing the new signers are associated with the business.

What documents do I need in order to change my business name?

Please send a secure message providing us with the following:
 

  • Articles of Formation filed with the Secretary of State

  • Letter from the IRS confirming your Business EIN

  • Fill out the Business Name Change Section within the “Account Maintenance Form”.

What documents do I need in order to add a DBA/FBN to my business name?

Please send a secure message through the online banking portal with the following documents:
 

  • Fictitious Business Name (FBN) statement or Doing Business As (DBA) filing for your business.

  • Fill out the DBA Addition Section within the “Account Maintenance Form”.

I changed my EIN, can you update it with my current business name?

If the EIN was changed with the IRS, please submit a new application. We are unable to convert the existing account since it is considered a new entity.
